Not only is this the greatest thing to come to Sussex County in a long time but it holds an even more special place in my heart because this is where we ourselves held our reception for our own wedding this past 4th of July weekend. The new barn space is just rolling out for this new season (299 capacity!). And while this can host a very large wedding here at the Delaware Beaches the intimacy of the landscape and story behind the beautifully restored 4-bedroom historic farm house inn that sits on the property makes for a dreamy location for weddings of any size (bonus too, it is only a few miles away from the Cape-May Lewes Ferry and Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes, Delaware). I really could go on and on but these images will show you what I mean. It's very much worth a tour, a weekend retreat or a wedding stay...xo Maria
When the sister of one of my dear childhood friends reached out and asked me to photograph her wedding in Manhattan I was overwhelmed with joy. I had already been on the path to start traveling more as my (then) two children were getting older and old enough to be away from me for extended and random periods of time.. I was even more elated to learn of the give back story of the venue where her wedding would be held. The Prince George Ballroom in New York City is not only a beautiful restored ballrom it also is a non-profit that supports the Breaking Ground Housing development and provides outreach programs for the vulnerable and homeless. This along with the other stories that are updated here have been a long time coming but for now and since it's the new year, a cheers...here's to that traveling Delaware Photographer, little ol' me and stayed tuned for many more beautiful updates that are to come here on the blog. Thanks for your patience in my absence, I look forward to being more present here...

Make your own wedding rings (Heidi Lowe Gallery)...there's a cute little shop on the Avenue in Rehoboth Beach-the most unassuming little house but magical things happen inside. If you haven't yet had the joy of visiting Heidi Lowe Gallery wander in one day and see the likes of local, national and international jewelry artists all in one cute little space. Heidi has been hosting and creating here for a decade now and her Lovely Rings by Hand (teaching you to make your own wedding bands) is by far the coolest, most creative, most meaningful wedding experience for couples. These guys headed down from Philly for the day and had me document the experience as well. Xo Maria
